Angel with her family in 2024

Angel is motivated by a deep sense of responsibility to her family and neighbors, instilled in her from a very young age by the generous spirit of her parents. The oldest child in her family, she witnessed them lending a helping hand to others in need, even when their own resources were limited. That love for community is what inspires her every day.

Angel is a strong advocate for housing choice and affordability, safe and accessible transportation, climate action, and ensuring that all our neighbors feel welcome and included in our community. She knows that there are steps we can take at the local level to achieve these results because she’s been actively working on these issues for over a decade.

Angel’s mom and dad taught her and her siblings the value of grit, compassion, and teamwork. They sacrificed so their kids could have more opportunities than they had. After graduating from college, she went to work as a paralegal, first with an employment law firm protecting workers’ rights, and now as the litigation support and paralegal manager with a local firm that is well respected in Oregon for its progressive values, taking on some of the nation’s largest and most powerful corporations and law firms.

When she’s not working and volunteering, she can be found with her family cheering for her husband's football team, supporting her daughter at swim meets and concerts, exploring the outdoors on her family's drift boat, or tending to their large vegetable garden.

Angel’s husband Ian is the head football coach at Pacific University, where he’s been guiding tomorrow’s leaders since 2010, both on and off the field. As a standout athlete in high school, he earned a full scholarship to play college football and has been coaching for over 20 years. His love for the game took him to the Midwest where he and Angel met.

Angel’s daughter Leta is one tough kiddo! She came into the world about nine weeks early and spent the first month of her life in the neonatal intensive care unit. She’s a thriving middle schooler now and loves competing with her swim team and performing at voice, piano, and stand-up bass recitals.
